A great centre of Hindu religion situated
145 km from Jaipur. In the sandy plain about 1 km from the holy Pushkar Lake
is held the “Annual Cattle Fair”, one of the largest in the world.
Thousands of camels, horses and other cattle are brought here for trade and
for recreation for four days prior to the full moon in the month of
November. The whole place is transformed into a magical spectacle with
myriad tents scattered over several camping sites. Hundreds of thousands of
tourist visit Pushkar to witness this colourful fair.
