The City Palace in Udaipur was built by Maharana Udai Singh and like the City Palace of Jaipur, this palace complex also saw continuous additions by the successors of Maharana Udai Singh. Built in granite and marble, the Udaipur City Palace is a blend of Chinese and European architecture. The palace complex stands on an elevated land overlooking the beautiful Lake Pichola.

Pichhola Lake : The picturesque lake inspired Maharaja Udai Singh to build Udaipur. The lake is surrounded by hills, palaces, temples, bathing ghats and embankments. Two island palaces, Jag Mandir and Jag Niwas (Lake Palace) on the lake are of overwhelming magnificence.

Fateh Sagar : A scenic lake, overlooked by several hills on the three sides and the Pratap Memorial on the north was built by Maharana Fateh Singh. In the middle of the lake is Nehru Park - a beautiful garden island with a boat shaped café accessible by an interesting boat ride.

Jagdish Temple: Built by Maharana Jagat Singh in 1651 A.D., this Indo-Aryan temple is the largest and the most beautiful temple of Udaipur with beautifully sculpted images.

Saheliyon-ki-Bari : This small captivating garden was a popular relaxing spot where royal ladies came for a stroll and hence the name. The garden has many fountains in its four fascinating pools, chiseled kiosks and marble elephants.

Ahar : The ancient seat of Sisodias, 3 km from Udaipur, Ahar displays plenty of royal cenotaphs of the rulers of Mewar. A rare collection of antiquities including earthen pots, iron objects and other art items excavated in the region are exhibited in a small Govt. museum.

Gulab Bagh : A breathtaking rose garden laid out by Maharana Sajjan Singh. A library in the garden has a rare collection of ancient handwritten manuscripts and books.
